Airbus Delivers First VIP H175 to Superyacht Owner

Airbus has delivered 7.8 tonnes of purpose-built aircraft in the form of the first ultra-luxurious H175 VIP Helicopter. Offering a jet-like experience, the first in a new line of medium class twin-engine helicopters is now headed to Europe where it will complement the luxury yachting lifestyle of her new owner.

Combining unparalleled elements of style and comfort, the H175 VIP Helicopter was designed to hold the largest cabin in its class with an enviable interior styling by Pegasus Design.

“The first delivery of a new version of the H175 is an important milestone for our company and for the H175 program. The H175 enlarges its operational capacity to a completely new mission segment,” said Guillaume Faury, President of Airbus Helicopters.

The expert engineering of the H175 helicopter has been used in offshore transportation and aided in different missions across the public sector. This new mission segment pushes the limits of luxury with a new design and purpose.

“The VIP variant is also great news for the private and business aviation market as flying in a helicopter has never been so close to a private jet experience.”

Delivered to an owner to complete the superyacht experience, the H175 offers a totally customised space for seven passengers. The layout of this particular cabin features two distinct seating zones; one forward that provides a lounge atmosphere, with facing club seating for four passengers and a galley, and another sofa-style seating for three at the rear.

The VIP H175 is not only being delivered to a large yacht, but is the first helicopter delivered by Airbus which does not require headsets to communicate when in the air.

Two more VIPs are set to arrive at the end of this year, available with seating for six to eight passengers. It is also available in an executive version, seating nine to twelve.

Speaking with Frederic Lemos, Head of Private Sales, we learned that this high-end aircraft is the biggest of the AirBus model range, and has some incredible capabilities. Able to fly 800 km, this large machine is designed to fit safely on board the world’s largest yachts and is different to anything available on the market today.
