High Altitude meets High Fashion
Aspen Fashion week, a showcase for the best of luxury winter clothing, has announced plans for this year’s event which kicks off on March 13.
Held in the prestigious ski mountain resort of Aspen in Colorado, the 3-day fair combines runway shows, in-store events and parties dedicated to winter apparel.
The week of runway events will open with French designer Jean-Charles de Castelbajac presenting his 2011/12 winter collection straight from Paris Fashion Week.
“Aspen Fashion Week has an intensely exciting schedule this year and an amazing follow up to last yearʼs event," says founder Lisa Johnson.
"Weʼre looking forward to an exciting future with the event becoming stronger each year."
Renowned ski and winterwear brands including Authier, Rossignol, Dannenmann-Pure, NUMBER: Lab, Obermeyer and Burton, will all be present at the event.
The city of Aspen is located in Colorado’s Rocky Mountains in western North America.
The first Aspen Fashion Week took place in 2009.
