MYS 2021: Novus' 007 Sensation with a Sustainable Edge
We were lucky enough to catch up with Rene Renger, Founder and CEO of Novus and the creator of the first premium lightweight e-motorbike. We discussed the inspiration behind the creation of the Novus bike and the great need for electronic propulsion within the automotive industry.
The environmental benefits of electronic propulsion, on land and on the water, is a topic on the lips of most designers and engineers wanting to make a sustainable impact. These benefits tend to be what attracts the buyers to the product: "I guess at the end it's the feeling you have when you ride the bike - this is the only product where you can feel like James Bond in the next next movie!" shared the CEO.
Rene Renger has been dreaming about riding futuristic vehicles since he was a child, he divulged to us the story behind the inception of the Novus bike and the sci-fi inspirations behind it: "The project started as a student project, and the idea was to combine the advantages of an e-bike with the advantages of a motorbike, to create something really new."
With over one hundred superyachts surrounding us at Port Hercule, we were curious to know why the Founder of Novus Bikes believes that superyachts are the best target demographic for his premium lightwright e-motorbike and what the advantage to owners might be: "It's so lightweight, only up to 80kg, so it's easy to get onboard the boat. It's also dry, there is no oil or anything like that, which makes it a really good fit for a yacht." commented Rene Renger.
With this incredible e-motorbike already a part of the company's portfolio, it is undeniable that Novus has an eye for futuristic design but what does the future hold for Novus? "We are trying to build a new mobility brand, so in the next five to ten years we want to stand for high premium design motorcycles. Everyone who is looking for that should think about Novus."
