A Look at the Past Year of Top 100 Yachts
2024 was a truly exceptional year for Superyachts.com’s official Top 100 list, with eight exciting deliveries and launches taking place and entering the Top 100 list. From a 91.8m surprise addition, to a highly anticipated 145 metre masterpiece, the standard of the world’s largest vessels has once again been raised.
In January 2024, Superyachts.com predicted that six deliveries would take place over the course of the year: Lürssen’s 145m LUMINANCE, Lürssen’s 140m+ Project ALI BABA, Lürssen’s 122m JAG, Feeadship’s 118m Project 1010, Lürssen’s 107m SHACKLETON and Feadship’s 103m ULYSSES.
Out of these six, five of these were successfully delivered, with two deliveries and one surprise launch replacing 107m SHACKLETON, which is now due for delivery in 2025.
LUMINANCE (145m, Lurssen Yachts, Rank: 12)
LUMINANCE was delivered in January 2024, setting the precedent for what was to be an extraordinary year of Top 100 deliveries. She features exterior design from Espen Oeino International and interior design by Zurretti Design.
DRAGONFLY (142m, Lurssen Yachts, Rank: 14)
As the year came to a close, DRAGONFLY, formerly known as PROJECT ALI BABA, was successfully delivered. This stunning vessel balances power with elegance, spanning a space of approximately 9,500 GT with notable amenities including a glass-bottomed pool, a cinema, spa and a water sports centre.
She has been engineered for peak efficiency, equipped with a diesel-electric propulsion system and an electric Azimuth Pod Drive. Her hybrid system, which was developed in-house, highlights Lürssen’s commitment to minimising environmental impact.
KISMET (122m, Lussen Yachts, Rank: 32)
Rounding out Lürssen’s exceptional year for Top 100 superyachts, 122m KISMET, formerly JAG, was delivered in May. Her exteriors were penned by Nuvolari-Lenard, whilst her interiors were penned by Raymond Langton Design.
Peter Lürssen, CEO of Lürssen, commented: ‘The Owner's brief was challenging. However, we believe that with our technical expertise, we have fulfilled the Owner’s wish and vision for a yacht that will still be timeless and ahead of its time for many years to come.’
Project 821 (118.8m, Feadship, Rank: 35)
In May 2024, Feadship launched PROJECT 821: the world’s first hydrogen fuel cell-powered superyacht, marking a significant milestone in the superyacht industry. At 118.80m, PROJECT 821 is not only the largest yacht ever launched in the Netherlands, but also the first to employ hydrogen as a green alternative to traditional diesel propulsion.
She features a sleek design with five decks above and two below the waterline, offering expansive onboard volumes and a seamless connection to the sea. The yacht can accommodate 30 guests across 12 staterooms, along with 44 crew members, and is tailored for family use with private lifestyle destinations on every deck.
LAUNCHPAD (118m, Feadship, Rank: 37)
Formerly Project 1010, Feadship’s 118m LAUNCHPAD was successfully delivered in February 2024. At the time of her launch, she was the Dutch yard’s largest project to date, now surpassed by Project 821. She features exterior design by Espen Oeino International, boasting a striking dark blue hull and flowing lines.
H3 was officially delivered in 2024, recognised as one of the most meaningful recent deliveries in the Netherlands. She underwent a rebuild so drastic, that it has become known as the first ever superyacht ‘re-birth’.
With 10 metres added to her overall length, and a complete reimagining of both her interior and exterior, H3 joins the Top 100 list as a truly iconic vessel, representing just how far the boundaries of superyacht design can be pushed.
ULYSSES (102.6m, Feadship, Rank: 70)
In April 2024, Feadship’s 102.6m ULYSSES was successfully delivered to her new Owner. Her exteriors have been designed by Sinot Yacht Architecture & Design, marking the tenth collaboration between the shipyard and design studio.
Her distinctive profile is marked by clean-cut exterior lines and a vertical bow, boasting 1,100 sqm of exterior glass, a helicopter hangar and eight hull doors.
DRIZZLE (91.8m, Feadship, Rank: 94)
Although not predicted by Superyachts.com at the start of the year, Feadship’s 91.8m DRIZZLE was successfully delivered in July. Notably, she is the first ever Feadship yacht to carry full hybrid electric class notation.
She features a plethora of amenities for her Owner to enjoy, including a large pool on the main deck, a spectacular observation vantage point and beach club that can house two ten metre tenders, a sea boat, and an array of water toys.
