AL REEM: The Pinnacle of Bilgin Yachts’ 80m Trilogy Makes a Splash

By Frances Flannagan

The third and final unit of Bilgin Yachts’ 80m superyacht trilogy has been launched: the perfect way to conclude 2024. Following in the footsteps of her predecessors, AL REEM exudes sophistication and elegance, whilst boasting an increased volume and a new, innovative approach to design.

In 2020, Bilgin Yachts launched the largest yacht ever built in Turkey: 80m TATIANA, who was followed by LEONA, who hit the water in 2022. Finally, AL REEM has now been launched; with fresh innovations and design, she not only upholds the legacy of her predecessors, but significantly enhances it.

AL REEM boasts the largest volume of all three yachts, with a gross tonnage of nearly 1,758. Her superstructure was redesigned, creating an imposing yet elegant profile, and her mast was enlarged by 20 percent and made even more striking.

Her eye-catching nature is extended to her colour scheme, AL REEM boasts a metallic grey and white palette with exudes elegance and sportiness, whilst also appearing aggressive on the water.

A standout feature of this stunning yacht is her Owners suite, which offers expansive views and a direct connection to nature. An outdoor terrace and jacuzzi area can be reached by two sliding doors, with large glass panels in the main and upper living rooms elevating this connection to the sea. All guests on board can make the most out of al fresco living, with extended aft decks providing 20 percent more outdoor space.

Emrecan Özgün, Founder and CEO of Unique Yacht Design who penned her exterior, commented: ‘Each of the three sister ships is distinct… we tailored Al Reem’s layout and design to deliver a sleek and luxurious experience while maintaining a connection to nature.’

H2 Yacht Design, who also oversaw the interiors of both TATIANA and LEONA, once again provided a stunning design for AL REEM.

Jonny Horsfield, Founder of H2 Yacht Design, commented: ‘We developed a completely new interior aesthetic for Al Reem, focusing on a light and neutral palette that feels fresh yet calming on the soul. The design exudes a sophisticated and timeless elegance, crafted to provide both luxury and comfort. The foundation of the design features matt timbers offering warm organic texture that harmonizes with the sleek refinement of polished stainless steel details adding a modern and striking contrast.’

The Owners vision for AL REEM was to design a serene oasis onboard, based upon calmness and relaxation. Through an emphasis on modern and sleek aesthetics blended with a connection to nature, this was perfectly translated into the final design. Multifunctional spaces characterise AL REEM, facilitating both relaxation and social interactions, ensuring that each and every space onboard compliments the Owner’s lifestyle.

AL REEM sets the precedent for the future of Bilgin Yachts: a true testament to the vision, passion and craftsmanship that define the Turkish yard’s brand, and the perfect conclusion to this world-class trilogy of breathtaking boats.
