We were delighted to welcome Alex Nicholl, Vice President of New Industries at Dubai World Trade Centre, to our interview studio. Discussing all aspects of this year's Dubai International Boat Show (DIBS), from impressive growth to enhancing visitor experience, the truly exceptional nature of the event is showcased.

Alex Nicholl provided a complete overview of what makes DIBS so spectacular. The show has seen remarkable growth, expanding by an impressive 20% since 2024, Nicholl comments, 'DIBS has basically matched the evolution of Dubai in the last 30 years so the success is due to the developments in Dubai'

This year's DIBS boasts an impressive lineup of 112 boats, marking a significant increase from last year's 79, and welcomes participation from 8 new countries, including Croatia and Singapore. This growth underscores the event's expanding international appeal. Alex Nicholl highlights, 'One of the most notable achievements this year is the substantial increase in boats on display, which we truly appreciate.'

In recent years, a lot of emphasis has been placed on enhancing the visitors' experiences, notably the growing programme for VIP attendees. Elements of this experience include exclusive opportunities for potential buyers to connect with companies in a more intimate setting, as well as the VIP Lounge offering a private space to relax and recharge.

The show's commitment to innovation is evident in its focus on staying aligned with future developments in yachting, including the integration of AI technologies. Nicholl's states, 'we have to stay aligned with development of yachting into the future'. This forward-thinking approach ensures that DIBS remains at the forefront of industry innovation.

One of the most exciting aspects of the 2025 show is the unveiling of 67 new yacht launches, offering attendees a first look at the latest in maritime luxury and technology. This impressive number of debuts underscores the event's importance as a platform for global yacht manufacturers and designers to showcase their latest creations.
