An Insight Into All Things PBIBS 2024
The Palm Beach International Boat Show (PBIBS) is making its highly anticipated return next week between the 21st and 24th of March 2024: a remarkable American celebration of the maritime and yachting industries. Drawing upon the success of last year’s show, the 2024 edition is set to be bigger and better than ever, with some of the world’s most sought-after boats and superyachts in attendance alongside a variety of exciting luxury lifestyle displays.
This year, PBIBS will feature more than $1.2 billion worth of yachts and accessories, with over 600 exhibiting brands and more than 800 boats on display. The show is once again located in the incredible Palm Harbour Marina: a world-class marina with superior facilities, exceptional hospitality and slips that can accommodate yachts up to 91m. The marina is highly accessible for visitors, located just fifteen minutes away from Palm Beach International Airport and their private aviation facilities. PBIBS also lies just a stone's throw away from the outstanding offerings of Palm Beach, a luxury town that boasts eclectic dining, beautiful beaches and a diverse range of entertainment options.
The 2023 edition of the Palm Beach show saw 600 boats in attendance, spanning every single style and reflecting the versatility of the event. A notable world-premier was Benetti’s CALEX: a 66m motor yacht with a sleek and low silhouette and an extensive owner’s deck spanning a remarkable 1,770 square feet. There were 55,000 attendees, and a staggering 6,000 people were employed for the show, leading it to be referred to as the ‘Jewel of the City’ as it holds a significant position within the area for lavish as well as economic reasons.
PBIBS 2024 is geared up to be just as spectacular as last year’s show, with several renowned yachts having announced their attendance. 90.1m NERO is set to be a highlight of the show, with 72m CASINO ROYALE and 60m COME TOGETHER also making eye-catching additions.
This year, PBIBS coincides with the Palm Beach Modern + Contemporary Art Fair: a beautiful combination of two diverse but equally invigorating events, which Windward Club members will also have access to. Windward VIP is the exclusive sanctuary within the show, offering an open bar, gourmet food, and a range of luxury pop-up activations.
Alongside the superyachts themselves, PBIBS is also home to a range of other luxurious offerings. The Aquazone is set to be bigger than ever before, featuring live demonstrations to allow attendees to have an up-close experience with the latest watersports and innovations. There are also various seminars that attendees can take part in: a series of educational and interactive presentations to help attendees engage with all aspects of the marine lifestyle.
The culinary experience at PBIBS is like none other, and this year the show has partnered with Proof of the Pudding to elevate the F&B options even further. There are over 75 food stands and bars throughout the show, each offering something different to satisfy everyone’s taste.
When it comes to sustainability, PBIBS has made a series of sustainable changes and taken part in a variety of initiatives to become closer to achieving its carbon neutral goal. The show has partnered with Yacht Carbon Offset, offsetting 3,345 tonnes CO2e in 2022 across Informa’s three US-based International Boats Shows, is powered by renewable electricity and uses sustainable catering.
Considering the splendour of last year’s show and the exciting updates that have been revealed about this year’s event, PBIBS 2024 is set to be a vibrant show that highlights the very best of the maritime lifestyle. Attendees can immerse themselves in the height of luxury yachting, all whilst enjoying a variety of energetic activations and sensational food and drink offerings, all within the lavish location of Palm Beach.
"From the VIP experience to the AquaZone, there will be activations that cater to all ages and adventure-seeking lifestyles."
