As the Antigua Charter Yacht Show 2024 (ACYS) has come to a close, Superyachts.com reflects on the spectacular week with an official round-up video of the event. Featuring beautiful yachts and vibrant events all within the stunning surroundings of Nelson’s Dockyard, Falmouth Harbour and Antigua Yacht Club, attendees were treated to yet another highly successful charter show.

Antigua: Land of Sea and Sun (as is inscribed upon number plates across the island).

However, it is also home to one of the most anticipated charter shows of the year, which promises attendees a spectacle of the world’s most sought after charter vessels, unparalleled networking opportunities and a series of exciting events.

The 63rd edition of the show has now come to a close, and it proved to be just as spectacular as previous years. Attendees were able to enjoy gazing upon a selection of incredible superyachts, the most notable being 105m BLACK PEARL, 95.3m CC-SUMMER and 85.3m BOLD, each offering something unique to the charter market: from the most advanced eco-sailing technology to innovative weather protection and privacy systems.

On the first night of the show, a vibrant opening party was hosted at Nelson’s Dockyard. Guests enjoyed a delicious spread of local cuisine, steel-pan entertainment and captivating performances.

Commenting on the evolution of the show over the years, Hon. Charles Fernandez, Minister for Tourism, Civil Aviation, Transportation & Investment for Antigua & Barbuda, shared: ‘What has happened over the years… is that we’ve had more yachts come in but they were smaller. Mega Yachts carry a lot more crew than the older yachts… so that also is important to note.’

Throughout the show, the renowned ACYS Concours de Chef and Tablescaping Competitions took place. The theme for the 24th annual event was ‘The Art of Charter: An Immersive Culinary and Sensory Voyage.’ Judges remarked that this year’s competition was more challenging than ever to judge, reflective of the exceptional talent of the chefs and crew onboard these stunning vessels.

Chef Leny Belin on M/Y WHEELS took home the prize of first place for the category of yachts 180 ft and over, whilst Chef Mikhailo Chekan of M/Y NURI and Chef Tom Rider onboard M/Y OCULUS took home first place in the categories of yachts 126 - 179 ft and yachts 125 ft and under respectively.

Chief Stewardess Emily Birkett on M/Y WHEELS also took the title of first place in the tablescaping competition for yachts over 180 ft, with Chief Stewardess Kirsty Mead of M/Y OCEANUS and Chief Stewardess Cathleen Botha of M/Y OCULUS winning first place in the other two categories.

The show ended with an exclusive Pirates of the Caribbean-themed party at the iconic Shirley Heights, which featured a DJ competition. The show concluded in unmatched style with drinks, food and music: a wonderful celebration for everyone’s hard work over the past week.

We at Superyachts.com were delighted to attend such an incredible charter show to mark the end of 2024, and cannot wait for the 64th edition.
