Bilgin Yachts Launches Second 80m Bilgin 263 LEONA

By Emily Dawkins

Turkish shipyard Bilgin Yachts has launched its second Bilgin 263 superyacht. Standing at 80m in length, ‘LEONA’ hit the water at the yard’s outfitting facilities in Istanbul, marking a proud moment for the shipyard as the second completed superyacht from the world-renowned series.

Sporting an eye-catching red hull and gleaming white superstructure, 80m LEONA certainly caught the attention of those watching on at her launch.

With her naval architecture and exteriors designed by Antalya-based Unique Yacht Design, LEONA boasts exclusive and large spaces onboard, characterised by sharp, yet harmonious exterior lines.

Her yet-to-be-revealed interiors have been designed by British design studio H2 Yacht Design: marking yet another collaboration between the shipyard and the studio. Little has currently been revealed about 80m LEONA, however, Bilgin teased that more details of the new launch are due to follow soon.

LEONA follows the first 80m Bilgin 263 superyacht, TATIANA, who, at the time of her launch in February 2020, became the Turkish shipyard’s largest built yacht to date.

Similarly to TATIANA, it is expected that LEONA will also have a commitment to minimising carbon emissions through Bilgin’s innovative exhaust system.

As the second hull launched from the Turkish shipyard’s iconic 263 series, LEONA is another remarkable achievement for Bilgin Yachts. However, the series doesn’t stop there, as Bilgin revealed in 2020 that a third yacht from the same series is also under construction, with her build process now expected to be well underway.

Superyachts.com would like to congratulate Bilgin and all those involved in this spectacular launch, and we are looking forward to keeping our readers updated with the latest details of LEONA, as well as future news from the yard.
