Cantiere delle Marche’s Flexplorer 146 MAT Hits the Water

By Frances Flannagan

Cantiere delle Marche (CdM) has proudly announced that Flexplorer 146 MAT has successfully been launched, marking a monumental milestone for the series. She introduces an array of exciting new elements on top of the successful foundational concept, spanning differences in equipment, layout and accommodation.

44.50m MAT reflects the exceptional levels of adaptability and flexibility of the Flexplorer series, in turn fulfilling each individual Owner’s wishes and specifications.

‘With the Flexplorer line, Cantiere delle Marche demonstrates its exceptional capability to transform a semi-custom explorer yacht into a fully custom masterpiece,’ commented Ennio Decchini, Executive Chairman and Founder of CdM. ‘The number of decks, for instance, can vary, highlighting the extensive customization available in design, naval architecture, and engineering. This extensive level of personalization is what truly defines our concept of semi-custom.’

MAT features the robust explorer aesthetic typical of the series, however with a sleeker profile due to having one less deck than her predecessor. Another substantial difference is the fact that she does not feature the iconic A-frame crane seen in both the Flexplorer 130 AURELIA and the Flexplorer 146 MAVERICK.

Instead, her Owner opted for the highly sophisticated feature of an ‘invisible crane’ to handle the tender and water-toys. The crane arm is able to retract into its compartment and the aft deck after the launch or hauling operation, which is then able to transform into a spacious outdoor lounging area.

Hydro Tec is responsible for the masterful design, naval architecture and engineering of MAT, whilst her well-balanced and spacious interiors were penned by Nauta Design: harmoniously blending elegance, functionality, and exploration.

Mario Pedol, Founder of Nauta Design, commented: ‘All guest areas boast large windows to bring light and views into the interior and enhance the feeling of indoor-outdoor connection. The yacht’s interior architecture is clean and refined with natural materials that are pleasantly tactile and colours that are light and pleasant to live among. The play of reflected light brings an element of constant movement to the interiors that enlivens and enriches the appeal of clean forms and natural tones.’

MAT has a gross tonnage of 475 GT, featuring generous social and private spaces throughout her tri-deck layout. Up to 12 guests can be accommodated onboard, whilst a crew of nine ensures the most luxurious experience at sea.

She is equipped with 65,000 litres fuel tanks that powers twin Caterpillar C32 engines, allowing for a top speed of 14 knots and a 5,000nm range at 10 knots.
