INEOS Britannia, a British sailing team that is the challenger of record for the 37th America's Cup, has recently announced that international yacht brokerage Cecil Wright has been secured as an Official Supplier for the event. Drawing upon Cecil Wright’s invaluable expertise and global reach, this partnership is set to seamlessly blend the worlds of yachting as a business and yachting as a sport, marking the beginning of a highly exciting professional relationship.

Between the 12th and 27th of October 2024, the 37th America’s Cup Match will take place in Barcelona, with five teams set to battle it out in The Louis Vuitton Cup competing in round robin races. Alongside the Louis Vuitton Cup rounds in September and October, the Youth and Women’s America’s Cup events will also be contested.

Since before the 36th America’s Cup, Cecil Wright and INEOS Britannia have had an informal relationship, this partnership now being cemented with the announcement that the brokerage will be an official supplier for the 37th edition of the event.

Sir Ben Ainslie, CEO and Skipper of INEOS Britannia, commented: ‘Chris and the team have been on this journey with us from the start working very closely with me for years, so I am delighted that we can now announce this formally. Cecil Wright is the most connected brokerage at the pinnacle of yachting, they understand the world of competitive sailing as well as how it functions as a business, so their expertise and connections are invaluable.’

Cecil Wright will now provide services and support across a number of aspects of the men’s competition for INEOS Britannia, having already been involved in partnerships with the Women’s and Youth America’s Cup.

Chris Cecil-Wright, Founder of the brokerage, commented: ‘The same 24/7 grit, tenacity and talent is essential to win in yachting as a sport as well as a business. We see those worlds increasingly intersect: our clients love yachting, our team are accomplished sailors, and we already support youth sailing, and have done for many years, so it’s the most authentic and supportive relationship. It’s also an incredibly fun sport to be involved in and really captures the hearts and minds of all who are involved.’
