Construction Milestone for First 34m Moonen 110
The steel hull and aluminium superstructure of M/Y YN202, the first ever 34m Moonen 110 to be built, have been joined at Moonen Yachts’ Den Bosch shipyard in the Netherlands.
Due to be delivered in April 2023, YN202 will be the first of her kind to leave the Moonen yard. Titled the ‘gentleman’s yacht’, YN202’s creation will highlight the Dutch shipyard’s contemporary evolution from its classic 84 and 97 models.
Featuring luxurious and elegant interiors from London-based designer, Studio Indigo, YN202’s onboard profile is set to wow her guests: ‘She will feature clean, fluid lines, highlighted by curved organic forms that create a relaxing and comforting interior’ commented a representative from Studio Indigo. ‘A sweeping spiral staircase using fluted natural timbers will be the heart of both the yacht and design.’
Her slender exterior, designed by René van der Velden, consists of three spacious decks, and will be home to two VIP double staterooms, two twin cabins and a master stateroom; providing ample room for up to 10 guests. A generous deck salon will boast floor to ceiling windows: increasing both the light, and sense of space onboard.
YN202’s Project Manager, John Bechtold, commented: ‘I am proud of our team and what we have achieved together in this last month. Now that the joining of YN202 will be complete, the world can see what a beautiful design she is, and that she is being built with much love and passion.’
YN202 has a 7.5m beam and 2m draft, with a range of 3,500 nm at 9 knots. Her notable features include low noise levels during cruising, reduced fuel consumption and a 7.5m tender. Her naval archiecture is by Diana Yacht Design.
