Damen Yachting Delivers 60m Motor Yacht KHALIDAH

The delivery of 60m KHALIDAH has come at an opportune time, with the Amels 60 series recently winning its second commendable industry award. She features custom interiors by Winch Design that resemble a home on the water for her Owner, featuring a neutral colour palette with scattered pops of colour, artistic design elements and high-tech solutions. This includes the ability to alter lighting and music in any area on board at the touch of a button. 

Espen Oeino penned her timeless exterior design, with the eye-catching signature and original Amels 60 trapezoid windows. Rob Luijendijk, Director of Sales at Damen Yachting, commented on the vessel: ‘Her striking design, future proof package and proven capability are just some of the outstanding qualities of the Amels 60. To see so many of these yachts with their Owners in such a short space of time is incredible.’

Deeside Maritime has been appointed by the Owner to oversee the final stages of the build and operational management of KHALIDAH. Nick Flashman, Director & Founder of Deeside Maritime and the Owner’s representative, commented: ‘I have worked on a number of Amels new builds over the years and have great experience of working with the Damen Yachting team and their fantastic technical build platform and operational performance. It was this experience and knowledge that the Owner and family office were looking for when appointing someone to not only oversee the crucial final stages of the build but to take the operational management of the yacht forward beyond delivery.’

KHALIDAH has a number of stand-out features that contribute to an exceptional onboard experience. She can accommodate up to 12 guests overnight in six staterooms, with space for 12 crew members plus the captain. The Owner’s suite is a luxurious escape onboard, with a folding balcony, ensuite, and dressing room.

She has impressive beach clubhouses, with a sauna and steam room and an exterior bathing platform where guests can dive into the sea. The sun deck has been designed with flexibility in mind, acting as a fabulous socialising space with a jacuzzi and barbecue set up whilst also being home to a touch-and-go helipad. KHALIDAH has space for a nine metre tender, meaning that guests can make the most of their time at sea alongside having access to a plethora of amenities onboard the yacht. 

Whilst the Amels 60 is made for the future, the model remains true to its heritage and the innovative build process that has contributed to the Limited Editions range seeing so much success. The model is highly appealing to owners, as they are offered fast delivery of a proven platform that features tried and tested seakeeping and naval architecture. The Amels 60 features an array of cutting-edge equipment and technology and allows for hybrid power and propulsion, representing the future of sustainable yachting.
