Edmiston Sells 22 Superyachts in the First Half of 2023
Since the beginning of the year, Edmiston has dominated the sales sector of the marine industry. Returning its sales figures to pre-pandemic levels, the brokerage house has sold an impressive 22 yachts over 30m so far in 2023, firmly establishing itself as one of the industry's leading brokers.
Across the industry, sales of yachts 30-50 metres in the first half of this year were 33% lower than in the first half of 2022, so it's impressive that Edmiston is defying this trend with an average yacht length of 46 metres sold this year.
‘This year is seemingly on course to be another year of steady growth as was consistently the case pre pandemic,’ Alex Koersvelt, Commercial Director at Edmiston, commented ‘Edmiston brokers will continue to use our peerless knowledge and contacts to connect the right buyers to the right yachts and continue to prove ourselves as the best brokers in the business.’
In a single week, the Edmiston brokerage team sold three yachts, including two Feadships, LADY MAY and KISS, which continued their formidable sales record for pedigree yachts. Impressively, the Edmiston brokerage team has sold 50% of all Feadships over 40m this year.
A rebalancing process is underway for the yacht industry, especially the brokerage market, following an unprecedented sales boom in 2021 and 2022, making Edmiston's 22 yacht sales all the more impressive. Furthermore, Edmiston has sold more boats priced over €20 million this year than in the first two quarters of 2021 and 2022.
Edmiston currently has the 61m SAMADHI on its books, an outstanding Feadship motor yacht complete with brand new interiors and exteriors following an extensive refit in 2023. Another Feadship currently available with Edmiston is the 1984-delivered A2 which was completely rebuilt and refurbished in 2012, then again in 2021/2022. In regards to other Feadship vessels currently with Edmiston, there is a remarkable renovation opportunity for the 61m 1979-delivered SANOO, whilst the 1991 36m LADY VICTORIA and the 1981 46m DOJO are presented in top condition and ready to be purchased.
"Edmiston brokers will continue to use our peerless knowledge and contacts to connect the right buyers to the right yachts and continue to prove ourselves as the best brokers in the business."
