Expectations Exceeded at 2025’s Dubai International Boat Show
The Dubai International Boat Show (DIBS) 2025 has left a lasting impact on the global yachting industry, showcasing an impressive blend of innovation, luxury, and sustainability. As the event's influence continues to resonate, it is clear that DIBS has solidified Dubai's position as a premier destination for marine tourism and a hub for the global yachting sector.
The 2025 DIBS achieved remarkable milestones at every corner this year, impressively drawing a record-breaking crowd of over 35,000 international visitors. This surge in attendance underscores the event's undeniable growth in international appeal. The show's economic impact this year was also substantial, with significant sales reported across various segments. Additionally, the introduction of a dedicated brokerage area at DIBS 2025 hugely facilitated high-level networking and transactions, with leading brokerages such as Burgess noting promising business opportunities.
With more than 200+ vessels on land and water, a 55% rise in new companies exhibiting, and 67 global and regional launches, the 31st edition of the show presented one of its most prolific and forward-looking events yet.
One of the notable trends highlighted at the event - which had a 24% bigger footprint than in 2024 - was the increasing demand for superyachts. Dubai Harbour's expansion to accommodate more of these luxury vessels reflects the city's commitment to supporting this growth. Gulf Craft Group reported impressive sales figures, including several superyachts over 100 feet, demonstrating the market's appetite for forward-thinking superyacht concepts.
The show also marked a significant expansion into new market segments, particularly with Sunreef Yachts' strategic move into more compact powercat models. The international premiere of the Sunreef Ultima 55, manufactured in its new UAE shipyard, signals a broader market strategy for the company.
In line with the UAE's Green Agenda 2030, DIBS 2025 emphasised sustainability more than ever, with exhibitors showcasing ongoing efforts to promote environmentally friendly practices in the maritime sector. This focus on sustainability aligns with the industry's broader shift towards more eco-conscious solutions, positioning Dubai as a leader in fostering a greener maritime future.
As the Dubai International Boat Show continues to evolve, it remains at the forefront of innovation, investment, and industry collaboration. The success of the 2025 edition sets the stage for continued growth and innovation in the years to come, reaffirming Dubai's status as a pivotal hub for the global yachting industry.
