First Look: 67m SPARTA's Stunning Interiors
The stunning interiors of SPARTA have been revealed, as Winch Design has once again excelled in creating a yacht that exudes luxury and creativity alike. Inspired by the elements, SPARTA boasts beautiful full-custom interior spaces that reflect the natural world in an elegant and stylish way.
Heesen's 67m M/Y SPARTA is the largest steel-hull displacement yacht ever built at Heesen, with a LOA of 67m. Winch Design, who also penned SPARTA’s exteriors, has revealed the interior renderings for the first time since her launch in June 2023.
This fully custom yacht had a unique style brief, each zone to be themed in the rising elements: earth, water and air. The intention was for SPARTA to be serene, sophisticated and elegant, with cohesion across all guest areas. ‘Sparta needed to be a floating home on the ocean,’ commented Joost Roes, SPARTA’s lead interior designer. ‘That vision helped achieve this amazing project.’
The main deck salon has a beam of 11.5m and is where the custom design is most evident in the yacht. The dining area is a nod to the private dining room of The Connaught in London, whilst the earth theme can be seen in the chairs upholstered in palm leaves and a meticulously crafted ancient oak trunk coffee table.
The VIP cabins on the main deck are marine-themed, featuring a beautiful tramazite installation above the beds. These cabins are divided by a panel emblazoned with a tapestry of goatskin vellum which is able to be opened or closed depending on the guests’ requirements.
The central hub of the yacht is the 65 sqm lower deck spa, in which natural materials showcase the water element at its finest. The Turkish bath pervaded by cool ceramics takes centre stage as natural light casts an aura of organic zen throughout the space.
The air element graces the upper deck, with the 56 sqm master suite aft shaded sky blue with mother-of-pearl inlays reflecting the sun. It has access to a private owners’ deck through sliding doors, the indoor-outdoor connection reflecting the themes of SPARTA’s design. The forward owners suite features a spectacular metallic headboard with the solar system crafted upon it, allowing guests to become immersed in the cosmos from the comforts of their bed.
The grand unifying element of SPARTA’s design is the oak staircase, which is carved in three different ways to link the three elements into one. It curves upwards to invite guests between the decks, with vertical lighting that brings it to life. SPARTA also has a glass elevator to take guests between decks, a space which is enveloped with milled oakwood panels.
The owners’ brief, which requested playfulness, activities and surprise, was certainly met in SPARTA’s design. Whilst each deck is completely unique, they all boast unparalleled luxury and creativity, whilst paying homage to the natural elements. SPARTA is a remarkable vessel, and Winch Design’s impeccable execution of complex themes place the firm at the forefront of interior yacht design.
