FLIBS 2024: What to Expect

By Frances Flannagan

As the 65th edition of the world’s largest in-water boat show approaches, excitement builds for what is set to be another unforgettable industry event. The Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show (FLIBS) returns from October 30th to November 3rd, promising a spectacular array of luxury, innovation, and entertainment, all within the stunning location of the Sunshine State.

Owned by the Marine Industries Association of South Florida and produced by Informa Markets, FLIBS is a cornerstone event for both yachting enthusiasts and the South Florida economy, boasting a $1.79 billion economic impact, over 100,000 attendees, and displaying more than 1,300 boats.

Spanning seven premier locations across nearly 90 acres, including Bahia Mar Yachting Center, Pier 66 Marina, and the Superyacht Village at Pier 66 South, FLIBS offers a tailored experience for every visitor. From stunning superyachts and cutting-edge tenders to exotic vehicles and the latest and greatest water toys, there’s something to dazzle each and every attendee.

The highly anticipated Windward VIP Club at its new Hall of Fame Marina location will serve as a luxury retreat within the show, offering gourmet food, an open bar, and early access to the event for VIP ticket holders. Meanwhile, the Superyacht Village at Pier Sixty-Six Hotel & Marina is set to host specialised industry talks and unveil the latest trends in yacht charter and new builds. Here, attendees will also be able to marvel at some of the world’s most lavish vessels, able to network with industry leaders to expand their knowledge of the superyacht world.

FLIBS also continues its commitment to sustainability under the 'Faster to Zero' initiative, aiming to achieve zero waste and net-zero carbon emissions by 2030. The show will be powered by 95 percent renewable energy, and initiatives like the no-styrofoam policy and sustainable catering provided by Proof of the Pudding underscore FLIBS' dedication to environmental preservation. Notably, the show has donated $300,000 to the Fish and Wildlife Foundation of Florida to support marine conservation efforts.

Proof of the Pudding is not only providing sustainable catering; it is also providing an eclectic dining experience for guests. From authentic street tacos to Greek gyros, every taste and dietary requirement will be satisfied, elevating attendees’ experiences even further.

A highlight of the 65th edition of the show will be the one hour special feature that will appear on Fox Sports. Alongside shining a spotlight on the spectacular event that is FLIBS, this exciting coverage will also showcase the winner of the Best of Show award. This award is given to an innovative debut model on display at the show, selected by a panel of independent judges, highlighting the ways in which FLIBS works to elevate its presence beyond the superyacht industry, and to a wider audience.

'This milestone year for FLIBS underscores our team’s dedication to investing in and elevating this event for the industry and consumers to enjoy,' commented Andrew Doole, President of the U.S. Boat Shows division of Informa Markets. 'As a key event on the marine industry’s calendar, we are already seeing early excitement from exhibitors and look forward to welcoming our guests back to our docks.'

With a packed schedule and numerous stand-out attractions, the Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show 2024 is set to deliver an unmatched experience for everyone attending.
