Hull of Lürssen's 103m Project JASSJ Hits the Water for the First Time

By Emily Dawkins

The bare hull of Lürssen's 103m Project JASSJ has officially hit the water for the first time at her technical launch. Seen for the first time since the announcement of her build in 2021, the mammoth vessel was launched from the German shipyard’s Rendsburg new build facilities. She is currently on track for delivery in 2025.

Despite the gloomy winter weather, the superyacht industry welcomed yet another addition to its global top 100 fleet this morning.

Hitting the waters of the Kiel Canal, Lürssen's 103m Project JASSJ revealed her steel hull, aluminium superstructure, powerful profile and several spacious decks for the first time to onlookers.

With many of her details undoubtedly remaining sparse, as with most Lürssen and 100m+ builds, brokerage firm Moran Yacht & Ship shed light on her grand volume during the announcement of her sale at the 2021 Monaco Yacht Show.

At 103m, Project JASSJ is a full-displacement motor yacht, penned by British yacht design studio RWD both inside and out. She features a beam of a staggering 15m, and a draft of 3.9m. She will be able to accommodate 20 guests across 10 cabins, and is said to harbour numerous expansive social spaces.

Despite secrecy, from her first reveal this morning Project JASSJ is expected to boast a traditional Lürssen bow shape, a tender garage and beach club with side-opening and an aft swimming pool. Moran Yacht & Ship are the project managers of her build.

Project JASSJ is yet another exciting new build currently under construction with Lürssen, with several other large new build projects also underway at the yard including the remarkable 114m fuel cell COSMOS, who was spotted during transport earlier this year, and the 82m Project CALI.

This year has been nothing short of remarkable for the German shipyard, with several magnificent launches including the 122m JAG and the 142m Project ALIBABA also seen leaving her shed this week.

Project JASSJ will now move to the next stage of outfitting.
