Interior Renderings Revealed of Van der Valk’s Stunning SAMBA Superyacht

By Frances Flannagan

Ever-expanding its beautiful fleet of bespoke vessels, Van der Valk has revealed the first interior renderings of SAMBA: a 35m tri-deck explorer. She offers everything from a lavish sauna and steam room for those who wish to unwind to a descending transformer platform for guests who would prefer to immerse themselves in the ocean environment.

SAMBA is the latest impressive member of Van der Valk’s fleet, created in collaboration with Guido de Groot and her highly enthusiastic owners. With each and every element being custom-built, SAMBA boasts an unmatched design combined with an exceptional performance: a captivating floating residence.

This vessel has been designed for three generations of a family to enjoy, with spectacular leisure spaces characterising her exteriors. LADY LENE, a 34m explorer that was delivered by the Dutch yard in 2022, has served as an inspiration across many aspects of SAMBA’s design, one of which being an expansive aft deck. This area will feature a lounge zone, alongside a formal dining area where her Owner can enjoy alfresco dining.

She boasts an impressive beach club that caters to all desires onboard, with a lavish sauna and steam room alongside a large transformer platform that descends into the sea for easy access to the water. Sliding doors in the bridge deck saloon enhance not only the indoor-outdoor interaction, but maximise outdoor living as they can open up to create shade.

SAMBA’s engineering and naval architecture platform is also based upon that of LADY LENE. She has been fitted with a fast displacement hull that allows her to reach a top speed of 17 knots, enhancing her exploration capabilities.

Her exterior profile is also designed with adventure in mind, bearing a distinctive explorer look with a forward mast. Each multifunctional element enhances SAMBA’s exploration capabilities; the finely integrated balconies are not only aesthetically interesting, but provide the captain with great views for manoeuvering.

SAMBA’s interiors reflect the stunning aesthetics featured in her exteriors, with a family ambiance at the heart of her design.

Guido de Groot commented: ‘Warm earthy tones will generate a lived-in feel with respect to detailing; never fancy or flashy, the yacht will have a pretty and practical style. Superior finishing will be combined with durability in a relaxed and calm environment that will be very pleasing on the eye.’

Her free-flowing interiors are marked by a central staircase with a large column, serving as a spectacular centrepiece as well as optimising movement onboard. Other ways in which her layout has been optimised is the galley, which features plenty of working space and a cooking island as her Owners intend to use it often as a family.

10 guests can be accommodated onboard across five cabins, configured as a master stateroom, two VIPs and two twins. The master cabin is especially spacious, with an office, a lounge seat, a large bathroom and plenty of storage all contributing to a comforting atmosphere for extended times onboard.

In relation to the unparalleled nature of the Dutch yard’s custom design process, Yoeri Bijker, Head of Sales at Van der Valk, commented: ‘If you’re considering building a bespoke superyacht between 24 and 45 metres with Dutch pedigree, Van der Valk is perhaps the only yard that will not try to guide you into a more semi-custom route. Clients welcome the confidence that comes from knowing others have already enjoyed the under-the-waterline assets of stability, performance, comfort and safety that our track record offers.’

SAMBA is due to be delivered in the summer of 2025.
