L’INSTANT Launched: The First Hybrid Electric Hull of the DOM133 Model

By Frances Flannagan

Not only has Baglietto launched its first yacht of the year, this vessel is the first hybrid-electric hull of the DOM133 model. From an innovative propulsion system to a re-imagined layout to suit the Owner’s preferences, L’INSTANT represents Baglietto’s technical capabilities and customisation options at their greatest.

L’INSTANT is the first of the DOM133 series to be fitted with a hybrid propulsion system, made up of a diesel endothermic engine and a hybrid unit fitted with an electrical motor. Not only are the engines compatible with fuels from renewable energy sources, therefore future-proofing the design, the electric propulsion also optimises consumption during long-range cruises and lends itself to silent cruising in the ultimate comfort.

When cruising in full-electric mode, the state-of-the-art battery packs grant L’INSTANT up to nine hours at anchor, releasing zero emissions and in complete silence.

This focus on sustainability is not limited to her propulsion; even the materials selected for her interiors, penned by Leonardo Santi, have been obtained by recycling plastic found in the ocean.

The interiors are not just environmentally conscious, but aesthetically stunning. They exude a warm and welcoming elegance, amplified by harmonious contrasts of light eucalyptus and walnut. The furniture comes in a neutral colour palette, accented with touches of the Owner’s favourite colour: turquoise.

L’INSTANT’s interior layout, which the Owner was actively involved in, is highly customised, showcasing Baglietto’s exceptional ability to bring clients’ visions to life. Usually on the DOM133, the galley would be situated on the main deck, however on this yacht it has been moved to the lower deck, whilst in its place is a VIP cabin.

Ventilation and air exchange are key features on this yacht, seen in the automated windows in the VIP and master cabins and the custom-made portholes in the guest cabins on the lower deck.

The internal staircases found in the main deck and the crew quarters have been redesigned to connect all decks to the sundeck. It is here that a multi-purpose bar can be found, with a dumbwaiter for easy service, alongside an outdoor gym.

The tender and two jet skis are located on the upper deck, due to the hybrid system taking up more technical space. For easy hauling and launching, a special 16 kn davit has been installed.

L’INSTANT can reach a maximum speed of 17 knots when powered by the diesel engines, and almost 10 knots in full electric mode.

With eight new yachts set to be launched by Baglietto this year, L’INSTANT has set the bar high for the esteemed Italian brand.
