Lürssen and Fraser to Present 97m CARINTHIA VII at This Year's Monaco Yacht Show

Leading German shipyard Lürssen Yachts and international yacht brokerage house Fraser Yachts have revealed that they will be presenting the 97m motor yacht CARINTHIA VII at the 2023 Monaco Yacht Show. Following an extensive refit which was completed this year, the now immaculate vessel will take centre stage at the Monaco show in September, as the largest superyacht on display this year.

Sold by Fraser to her new owner in 2022, Lürssen’s CARINTHIA VII is expected to stun the industry at her official unveiling at the Monaco Yacht Show this year. Recently emerging from an extensive refit at Lürssen’s Hamburg facilities which saw a complete overhaul of her exterior decks to introduce new lounge and living areas, as well as a brand-new 12m pool and fitness room, the 97m vessel, famously known as one of the world's first true 'mega' yachts following her launch in 2002, will now be available for charter for the first time in her 21-year history, represented exclusively by Fraser.

CARINTHIA VII's refit and entrance to the charter market represents a historic milestone for both Lürssen and the global yachting community. Named Project Faberge throughout her construction, the 97m vessel represents a sought-after level of craftsmanship, engineering and styling in the industry; so sought after in fact, that her interiors have remained hidden since her original launch in 2002.

With incredible exterior lines designed by multi-award-winning yacht designer Tim Heywood, CARINTHIA VII's influence on the yachting industry remains noticeable even after 21 years since her initial reveal. Heywood himself acknowledged that numerous yachts built subsequently after her launch owe their very DNA to this remarkable vessel.

'I am very proud that after building CARINTHIA VII, we have now been able to participate in her new lease on life with an extensive refit,’ commented Peter Lürssen, Managing Partner of Lürssen. ‘She remains a very particular vessel and is a testament to the solidity of our German engineering and manufacture.’

Having remained a well-kept secret for over two decades, CARINTHIA VII will now be situated in all her glory as she makes a highly anticipated debut at this year's MYS. The unveiling, led by both Lürssen and Fraser, promises to be a grand spectacle, showcasing the 97m’s newfound lease of life.

Daniela de Marco, Fraser’s Head of Charter Management for Europe, commented: ‘Bringing any yacht to the charter market for the very first time is always a joy and a challenge. And one that we relish. It’s like starting with a blank sheet of paper - creating a fresh new program built on experience with the very best charter captains and crew, the latest tenders and toys and of course, creating some personalized and exciting new itineraries with clients. To be able to create all that for such a renowned yacht as CARINTHIA VII, one we know well, built and refitted by such a yard and brand as Lürssen, is really a privilege and a pleasure we can’t wait to deliver on.’

With just over two months to go until the start of the 2023 Monaco Yacht Show, we for one can’t wait to see her there.

CARINTHIA VII can accommodate up to 14 guests with a crew of 37. She has a gross tonnage of 3,643 and a beam of 15.95m, and is equipped with a bow touch-and-go helipad and garages for two 8m tenders and toys.
