Whether city harbour, remote reef or rugged wilderness, superyachts are the best way to uncover Australia’s diverse experiences. With an abundance of possibilities to navigate,

Australia’s charter experts design bespoke itineraries, tailored to the interests of your group.

“I think it’s a general rule that when you charter a superyacht you shouldn’t put a limit on your expectations,” shares Ian Malouf, Managing Director of Ahoy Club. “Being a superyacht owner and having many years of experience on the water, there’s no doubt that you’re always looking for new experiences. And Australia is one of those frontiers.”

Having covered everything from Australia’s rugged Kimberley to the majestic Whitsundays and vibrant cities, Ian and Ellie Malouf share how they make each journey special for their clients.

“It’s our job to give the client whatever they want, and we try to make the impossible possible,” explains Ellie Malouf, CEO & Founder of Ahoy Club. “What we recommend really just depends on what kind of group you are and where you are as well.

“We’ve as a team actually tried and tested every single itinerary that we promote around Australia, and we make a lot of effort to visit the restaurants and all the shore excursions. I think it’s so important that when we’re speaking with clients, there’s a real passion there and we are trying to experience everything so that we can recommend the very best.”

Beyond the superyacht charter, Australia boasts a staggering range of luxury experiences to indulge in. Set amidst the country’s spectacular natural landscapes, the Luxury lodges of Australia are a collection of Australia’s most exquisite high-end resorts. Each with its own interpretation of barefoot luxury.

“We always encourage people who are cruising around Australia to get off their yacht now and again, and into the interior,” says Phillipa Harrison, Managing Director of Tourism Australia. “A beautiful way to do that is through our Luxury Lodges collection. This is a collection of properties that really exude the Australian way of experiencing luxury.

“It’s not all about gold taps and butlers, it’s about a real sense of place, and immersing yourself in that place.”

Whether deep in the Red Centre or overlooking the reef, the Lodges deliver unrivalled luxury experiences amidst the country’s spectacular natural scenery.

Consistent throughout all of these luxury experiences is the magnificent produce of Australia’s diverse natural environment. From fine wines to pearls, there are plenty of luxury delights to take home. And sometimes, something just a little extra special.

In the Gold Coast, we visit the renowned Calleija Diamonds to hear from award-winning jewellery designer, John Calleija, about some of Australia’s rarest treasures – Argyle Pink Diamonds.

Created over 1.6 billion years ago below the surface of the Kimberley, these coveted diamonds are the epitome of elegance

“Argyle diamonds are wanted all over the world,” says John Calleija. “To think that they come from our backyard in Australia in the amazing Kimberley region, unfortunately that mine has now closed.

“So, they are entrusted to jewellers all around the world who understand where they come from, understand their rarity, and understand the uniqueness in designing them.

“We want to come and see a really rare piece of Australia’s history and our natural history. It’s just so beautiful.”

Australia is an inexhaustible destination for superyachts, brimming with diverse cruising grounds and unique experiences. With so much to discover on land, the Australian adventure must be continued beyond the charter.

From glamorous produce to indulgent resorts, a superyacht-level of service and luxury can be found in all corners of the country.

In the next episode, we take to the waters to explore the wider South Pacific - where Australia and its neighbours provide an alternative cruising region to the Med and Caribbean.
