Model Maker Group at FLIBS 2024

By Frances Flannagan

Having attended the Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show (FLIBS) for over fifteen years, Model Maker Group (MMG) has established a notable presence at the largest in-water boat show of the yachting calendar year. Displaying some of the industry’s most stunning vessels and anticipated concept designs, MMG has solidified its place as a key industry player.

Model Maker Group is a leading supplier of yacht models in the superyacht industry, completing an average of 350 models per year across designs, replicas and refits. Since its inception, MMG has been working to increase its presence not only within Europe, but worldwide.

The American market in particular is an important region for MMG, primarily targeting yacht Owners, designers, brokers and dealers. This grew from the limitations of the local shipbuilding industry to the brand.

Having established a notable presence at FLIBS, the event holds great importance for MMG. Here, the brand is primarily focused on providing assistance and support to its clients and partners.

At the 65th edition of the show, MMG has over 50 of its models on display, spanning a diverse range of designs and companies. Its most notable models include Benetti’s 67m B.Now and 57m B.Yond, Azimut’s 68 Fly, Tankoa’s 70m APACHE and the new 52m Mangusta Oceano. Solidifying its place within the US market, leading US superyacht builder Ocean Alexander also has a MMG model on display: the 35P.

The company is continually working to elevate its presence within the superyacht industry, specifically targeting the American market.

Giuseppe Capobianco, COO of Model Maker Group, commented: ‘We are considering the possibility of opening a centre in Florida to establish a local point of reference, enabling us to respond more directly and promptly to the needs of the shipyards here.’

This goal reflects the unwavering commitment of MMG to its client-base, as it has recognised the benefit it would have on Florida-based yards by establishing offices in the region.

With incredible products, ambitious goals and a drive to be the best in its field, Model Maker Group’s presence at FLIBS 2024 solidifies its increasingly renowned place in the superyacht industry. We at Superyachts.com cannot wait to see what the future holds for this spectacular brand.
