Moravia Yachting Appointed for Sale of World First Superyacht Submarine

By George Bains

Moravia Yachting has been appointed as the exclusive international partner for the sale of the U-Boat Worx Nautilus submarine – the world’s first superyacht submarine. At 42m in length, the Nautilus submarine is an incredible hybrid-electrical submarine that can take guests on deep-sea exploratory voyages to a depth of 150m.

This is not the first time that a Bond comparison will be made in this industry and certainly won’t be the last, but the Nautilus submarine combines luxury and submerged exploration in a manner reminiscent of the underwater fortress featured in 1977 film The Spy Who Loved Me.

The Nautilus is the first such vessel to be designed to deliver a superyacht lifestyle both above and below the water surface. In surface cruising mode, guests onboard Nautilus can enjoy the familiar superyacht luxuries of a sun deck, bar, al fresco dining, and an inviting beach club.

The innovative engineering behind Nautilus allows the sun deck to retract, preparing the vessel to then dive below the surface and explore the depths of the ocean.

Up to 10 guests can be accommodated onboard the Nautilus across five ensuite cabins, each fitted with a large picture-window, while there are separate quarters for a crew of seven.

The interior, designed by Officina Amare, has been inspired by the ocean that Nautilus is primed to explore. The arrangement centres around 10 circular viewports, each with a diameter reaching 4m.

Whether above or below the water, guests will be able to take in panoramic views from the mezzanine observation lounge, while the interior can be fully customised and does have alternative options of layouts.

“The Nautilus represents a new frontier of discovery and a new pinnacle in superyacht innovation,” says Kurt Fraser, Chief Commercial Officer of Moravia Yachting. “We are privileged to be part of this ground-breaking step and are excited to conclude sales of the Nautilus for U-Boat Worx.”

The state-of-the-art Nautilus submarine is constructed in steel and will offer a surface speed of 9 knots, or 4 knots when submerged, with a range of 3,200 nautical miles.

This is certainly an incredibly exciting feat not only for the technical advancements and engineering of the Nautilus, but in what she represents for future experiences of the ocean.

Equipped with a sonar system and underwater cameras, the Nautilus will present her guests with the opportunity to encounter previous marine life face-to-face and to explore with complete freedom and safety.
