Mulder ThirtySix Q43 Delivered to New Owners

By Frances Flannagan

Mulder has announced that the seventh yacht in the Mulder ThirtySix series, Q43, has successfully been delivered. Her Vickers Studio interiors beautifully represent the pinnacle of custom yacht design, with Q43 featuring a vibrant colour palette inspired by the sea and a dedicated barista set-up for her coffee-connoisseur owners.

Q43 was sold following an introduction by Chris Collins of Ocean Independence at the Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show (FLIBS) 2022, with her hull already under construction.

This 297 GT yacht sports a Matterhorn-white hull and sleek superstructure, following after her sisterships with Naval Architecture by van Oossanen and exterior design by Claydon Reeves. She can accommodate up to 10 guests across a luxurious five-cabin layout, and can host six crew members.

John Vickers, Founder of Vickers Studio who penned her interiors, commented: ‘We are so pleased to have been part of the design team for the new launch Q43, the latest Mulder Shipyard 36m. Our collaboration with Mulder on these 36m yachts has been so rewarding for us as designers, and the success of this yacht series are proven yet again with this new launch of hull number 7.’

Q43 is characterised by a light white background framed in walnut joinery, with turquoise, green and blue fabrics used throughout in the form of custom carpets, feature cushions and decorative highlights. Her Owner also wished for reds to shine through in Q43’s design, used in two of the guest cabins where house fabrics from fashion icons such as Jean Paul Gaultier were sourced for the cushions.

Q43 has been developed directly in accordance with her Owner’s preferences, with state-of-the-art barista facilities being installed to cater for the family’s passion for coffee.

John concluded: ‘Our brief was to create a home from home for a family new to yachting, who wanted all the adventure and touring possible. For real adventuring you need to get into all the bays and shallow anchorages as well as feel comfortable with ocean crossings and big seas all of which make these 36-metre yachts from the family run Dutch shipyard the very best choice on the market.’

Q43 is now on her maiden voyage to Norway, before spending the summer season in the Mediterranean. She will be proudly presented at the Cannes Yachting Festival in September, before making an appearance at FLIBS 2024.
