MYS 2023: 3S Money on Seamless Banking for UHNWIs
The 2023 Monaco Yacht Show was a vibrant showcase that celebrated the world’s most luxurious, and expensive, superyachts. Joining Shari Liu in our Interview Studio to talk all things money was Co-Founder and CEO of 3S Money, Ivan Zhiznevsky.
Ivan shares his personal story that led him to founding 3S Money as a response to challenges he experienced establishing a company in Europe as non-European national. Having started with a single hot desk in London, he now employs 200 people in six global locations helping businesses to scale-up internationally.
3S Money’s services are ideally positioned to help the high-net-worth and superyacht community. “High-net-worth individuals, by nature, are global citizens,” explains Ivan. “The nature of their operations is cross border, and traditional banks don’t want to entertain their transactions as they don’t like cross border business.
“When it comes to renting out a boat, paying for schools, or selling property abroad, banks can’t help with that, but we can. We are designed to handle those transactions and we have all the tools that digital businesses can use to assess them quicker and make it cheaper to move money.”
Ivan had been inspired by the private banking model of Credit Swiss, with his own platform extending a similar experience for smaller enterprises and high-net-worth individuals, while offering a much simpler and cost-effective service.
This is the first year that 3S Money has been present at the Monaco Yacht Show, and it is safe to say there will be plenty more activity to come. As Ivan explain, the company already had existing clients in the maritime industry, from owners to charter and logistics service providers, but the business had come to 3S Money organically.
“It’s the perfect industry for us to be focused on right now,” adds Ivan. “Boats are by nature internationally players, and that’s why we’re here.”
