MYS 2023: Henk de Vries on Feadship’s Success and Future Legacies
This morning, on the first day of the 2023 Monaco Yacht Show, we welcomed Henk de Vries, CEO of Feadship to our interview studio. Acknowledging the current success of the Dutch shipyard, de Vries spoke on the secure future of Feadship and the legacy that will be passed down to his successors.
Feadship has had an incredibly busy year, Henk de Vries, CEO of Feadship commented: 'We’ve had numerous deliveries and were in the process of working through our largest order ever.' 84.20m OBSIDIAN’s delivery this summer highlights the current success of the shipyard, being the first electric drive boat, as she takes her place as the flagship of Feadship’s highly impressive fleet.
By the end of 2022, the delivery time extended to almost five years, emphasising the demand and popularity of Feadship yachts. De Vries, CEO of the company for only a few more years, is working on building a legacy that will continue into the future of the company.
'I have to make sure that whatever legacy we are planting the seeds for today is nurtured by our successors and is made a success in the future, and we are working on that.'
Having attended almost all of the Monaco Yacht Shows over the past 32 years, De Vries recognised the changes that have taken place within the industry, notably that, 'the industry has certainly become more professional’, referring to the increase in industry members of a very high calibre.
Feadship certainly has exciting and promising times ahead, made possible by the current work which has, and is currently being, carried out to the highest of standards.
