MYS 2024: Bilgin Yachts On Dominating the 499GT Segment

Berkay Yilmaz shared with Shari Liu insights into Bilgin Yachts’ exceptional growth over the past 20 years. Specialising in 50 - 120 metre yachts, Bilgin now operates over five facilities, and currently has 11 yachts under construction.

The most recent yacht to be delivered by the Turkish yard, and on display here at the MYS, is ETERNAL SPARK, who was the vision of a client who wished to create ‘a full-custom interior with so many different features to be the best character yacht in 50m series.’ Since her delivery in June, she has seen five weeks of charter this season, with another two weeks booked post-MYS. 

She is the perfect example of Bilgin Yachts’ expertise when it comes to this segment of superyachts; Berkay Yilmaz, Commercial Director of Bilgin Yachts, commented: ‘In terms of quality, we brought the quality aspect that we have done on large yachts to these small yachts.’

Yilmaz reflected on the importance of the range for Bilgin: ‘We wanted to prioritise this segment after we built the 80m series, since our core business was coming from 40 to 50m mega yachts.’

The future is bright for Bilgin Yachts, who expect to launch two yachts in the upcoming months: hull number three of the 80m series, and the sister yacht of ETERNAL SPARK, who will hopefully be on display at next year’s show.
