MYS 2024: Carla Guilhem Design on Navigating Luxury Design in Yachting and Architecture
Carla Guilhem, founder of Carla Guilhem Design, sat down today to chat to Shari Liu about her latest projects and ventures, she spoke about projection in Portugal and Palm Beach,Miami, her ICON Project MISSION, gave a small tease for what could be in store next year.
Reflecting on a productive time for her design studio, Carla highlighted ongoing projects. Her firm is recognised for creating luxurious interiors that resonate with clients' unique personalities, blending functionality with aesthetic appeal.
Carla celebrated the completion of ICON Yachts’ Project MISSION, designed to promote self-discovery through its interior spaces, ‘it’s a very special design’ Carla commented. She elaborated on how the design features elements that foster introspection and connection with nature, emphasising a balance between the yacht's rugged exterior and its warm, minimalist interior.
Carla also shared insights into her architectural projects in Miami, noting how the post-COVID market has shifted. She observed changes in client preferences and demands, which have influenced her design approach to residential and commercial spaces in the area.\
Looking ahead, Carla hinted at exciting upcoming private jet projects for Carla Guilhem Design. While specifics were not disclosed, she expressed enthusiasm for continuing to push the boundaries of luxury design and innovation.
