MYS 2024: Founder of Aegean Yacht on the Yachting Industry in Turkey
Superyachts.com welcomed Sinan Ozer, Founder of Aegean Yacht, to our interview studio at the Monaco Yacht Show 2024. Ozer discussed the heritage of boat construction in Turkey, the fantastic services Aegean Yachts provides for clients and current projects under construction.
Sitting down with Shari Liu, Ozer shared insights into Aegean Yacht throughout the years; to date, the shipyard has successfully built and delivered 54 vessels and counting, with a 66m and two 37m yachts currently under construction. Epitomising the brand's excellence, in July 2024 the 26m Aegean Sea Explorer successfully hit the water, proudly displayed at this year's MYS.
Ozer explained the services that Aegean Yacht offers: from yacht building and refit to yacht charter and brokerage, allowing for a multifaceted solution for those within the yachting industry.
The rich maritime history in Turkey was beautifully detailed by Ozer, emphasising the legacy of boat construction in the country and its importance to the nation’s identity.
Sinan Ozer, Founder of Aegean Yacht, commented: ‘We have four marinas now in Bodrum, but Bodrum has an old tradition of boat building. Our tradition, our heritage, starts from about 2500 years before.’
