MYS 2024: Luxury Projects on Discovering New Paths of Design Adventure with Every Client
On day three of the Monaco Yacht Show 2024 (MYS), Shari Liu sat down with Laura Pomponi, Founder of Luxury Projects, to discuss her studio’s latest industry ventures. This year marks Pomponi’s 10th visit to the Superyachts.com interview studio, as she shared insights into two standout yachts in attendance at the show, the integration of green technologies and entering the niche market of luxury private clinics.
Undergoing a challenging six month refit, 60m SAMADHI was transformed by Luxury Projects into a highly futuristic yacht, proudly displayed at this year’s MYS. New design features include a pool which was added in the transom, and a wardrobe that has been transformed into a multifunctional 3x5 metre space which now houses a spa.
Making its first appearance at MYS, MOONSTONE is another testament to Luxury Projects’ creativity; ‘It’s one of my favourite babies,’ Pomponi revealed. The yacht is rich in details but maintains an elegant atmosphere, making her luxurious without overwhelming the senses.
Pomponi also reflected on the recent sale of the 70m ALFA: a project that began from scratch for a visionary client.
Laura Pomponi, Founder of Luxury Projects, commented: ‘The design we created for ALFA is completely different from SAMADHI and MOONSTONE. We like to create what the owner wants, and we challenge ourselves on a new path of design adventure with every client.’
Luxury Projects integrates cutting-edge green technologies into its designs, with all platforms being hybrid and adaptable to various energy sources. The design studio continuously seeks environmental innovation, researching the comparison between artificial and natural materials to truly discover what is more sustainable.
In addition to yacht design, Luxury Projects ventures into other niche markets, including luxury private clinics, where they focus on creating beautiful, sustainable environments.
Pomponi concluded: ‘We enjoy our work, so it doesn’t feel like work,’ reflective of the passion and dedication that defines Luxury Projects.
