MYS 2024: Onshore Cellars on Building a More Customer-Centric Business

By Frances Flannagan

Cementing the partnership that has been nurtured over six years, Edward Dunnett, Co-Founder of Onshore Cellars, sat down in the Superyachts.com interview studio to discuss the brand’s presence at the Monaco Yacht Show. He also shared insights into how Onshore Cellars was created, alongside providing advice on how to enter this fascinating sector of the superyacht industry.

After working on superyachts for almost ten years, Edward Dunnett and Jess Dunnett saw an opportunity to move ashore yet still be involved within the superyacht industry; specifically, in wines. The pair thus founded Onshore Cellars: the leading supplier of wines and spirits for yachts around the world.

Dunnett revealed how their background in yachting has significantly influenced the business, mainly due to the contacts they had built, and their understanding of how the yachts work. It’s a unique business in a unique industry, so this first-hand experience has been instrumental in catapulting Onshore Cellars to the forefront of the wine sector of superyachting.

He also shared how the two Founders wished to build a business that was lacking when they were onboard yachts: one which was more customer-centric and focused on service.

Partnering with Superyachts.com for the sixth time at the MYS, Dunnett shared:

‘It’s a lot of fun, we’ve got a lot of good companies all in one spot. It’s a good place to network.’

Dunnett concluded his interview by sharing some words of wisdom for anyone wishing to enter this niche sector of the yachting industry:

‘Give it a go. Work your network, make sure all the suppliers your working with understand how they deal with things.’
