Owner Delighted as Extra 86 M/Y Haze Launched

The design process for Haze began from the interior and worked its way out, Extra Yachts explained. “We are delighted with Haze,” said Jordi Wilkes, the Owner’s representative. “She looks fantastic. The yacht’s styling and vast open outdoor space suits the requirements of the owner extremely well and we are confident the yacht will provide some fantastic experiences for both owner and guests when cruising. The chosen exterior paint colour and finish just enhances the wow factor of the yacht ensuring she stands out from the crowd.”

Extra Yachts, the youngest of the Palumbo Group superyacht brands, has enjoyed an admirable rise in market appeal during the last few years, with the 30 knot Extra 86 Fast making a debut at FLIBS 2019. This latest project reaffirms the shipyard’s ability to build custom designs which match the Owner’s specific preferences.

The interior design, penned by Lawson Robb’s Senior Designer George Wolstenholme, is the fruit of extensive research into models and manufacturers which appealed to the Client’s individual tastes and lifestyle. It was the indoor-outdoor flow that is provided by Extra 86’s GA which appealed to Wolstenholme, and convinced him that this was the right yacht for the Owner.

The GA includes a forward-set wheelhouse, creating space for an extensive saloon and aft deck which transforms into an exciting entertainment space complete with a projector. The main saloon has been customised at the request of the Owner to allow them to have an area to display their favourite artwork. Up to eight guests can be accommodated in the yacht’s four luxurious guest cabins, which include a full-beam master suite, a large VIP cabin and two twin cabins, all with en-suite facilities.

The onboard space is certainly impressive and provides ample social space for a superyacht of her category. This is continued in the outdoor decks, with huge sunbeds and a bar & barbecue area on the flybridge. Haze also benefits from a strong engineering platform, with twin VOLVO IPS 1350 engines giving her a maximum speed of 21 knots.
