PBIBS '23: On board the Pearl 95 with Iain Smallridge
On the second day of the Palm Beach International Boat Show, Superyachts.com had the pleasure of speaking with Iain Smallridge, Managing Director of Pearl Yachts, on board the shipyard's flagship vessel, the all-new Pearl 95.
Based in the U.K, Pearl’s meticulous and world-class craftsmanship is evident from the very first glance. From their beautifully streamlined exterior to the stunningly appointed, ingeniously spacious interiors, Pearl offers a bespoke service for each client; providing a personal touch that is incomparable.
"Pearl Yachts has become known as a boutique yacht builder," says Iain.
"We tend to mainly sell in the U.S. and Europe, but are now expanding to Asia, Australasia, the Middle East and the Far East. We tend to build around 12-15 yachts a year, but that will soon increase, with a target of 20 yachts per year by 2025."
Owners are offered a selection of engines and layouts, and can tailor the interior with their choice of the Kelly Hoppen CBE designed interior themes.
Pearl's entry level model, the Pearl 62, was on display at this year's show, along with the flagship vessel of their range, the new Pearl 95, both of which were penned by Dixon Yacht Design, who has had a long-standing relationship with the yacht builder over the past 25 years.
Adding an extra cabin where no other brand could, integrating next-generation propulsion systems and creating striking and distinctive exterior lines remain at the very core of why Dixon Yacht Design has pushed Pearl to the forefront of the industry.
"The 95 boasts 5 en suite guest cabins, a beach club, with Interior Designer Kelly Hoppen exclusive to our range. We're always looking ahead, new technologies, new innovations, and we'll be introducing new designs and concepts in the coming months," he adds.
