Sailing Yacht Red Dragon is Officially Sold
The 51.7-metre Alloy Yachts sailing yacht Red Dragon has officially been sold, with the seller represented by Simon Goldsworthy of Edmiston. Delivered in 2008 and recently refitted in 2023, Red Dragon offers a perfect blend of sophisticated design and strong performance, making her an excellent choice for her new owner.
Red Dragon was crafted by Alloy Yachts in New Zealand, with exterior design by Dubois Naval Architects. Her aluminium construction ensures both durability and a sleek appearance. After her 2023 refit, which included a repaint of the transom, new sails, and an updated aft deck awning, she remains in excellent condition and ready for a new chapter.
The interior, designed by Wilmotte & Associates, provides a welcoming atmosphere for up to 12 guests. The yacht has five cabins, including an owner’s suite, three double cabins, and one twin cabin, all with ensuite bathrooms. The open plan living area offers plenty of space for relaxation, with large windows providing views of the surrounding waters.
On the exterior, Red Dragon features an expansive sun deck with an al fresco dining area and sun loungers, as well as a relaxed dining space on the main deck aft. The yacht’s stern platform provides easy access to the water and serves as the launch point for her collection of toys, which includes a 7 metre Castoldi Jet tender, two Reverso sailing dinghies, Seabobs, water skis, wakeboards, and more.
Red Dragon is powered by a 1,400-hp Caterpillar C32 C diesel engine, allowing her to reach a top speed of 15 knots and a cruising range of 4,900 nautical miles at 12 knots. With a beam of 10.2 metres and a draft of 4.9 metres, she offers a comfortable cruising experience.
With her well-maintained condition, spacious living areas, and ample water toys, Red Dragon is a wonderful choice for those seeking a sailing yacht designed for both adventure and relaxation.
