Silent Yachts Unveils New Version of Solar Electric Flagship

With four new superyachts sold and a total of eight in construction, Silent Yachts is certainly building momentum for a bright future as it sets the standards for efficient designs. The new versions of Silent 80 give a glimpse into what that future will look like, both in its aesthetics and engineering.

The advancements made on the Silent 80 flagship have been a response to the evolving wishes of the modern superyacht owner. The notable new features include an increased toys compartment, large windows and extra headroom.

Speaking on the reasons for the new models, Michael Köhler, Silent Yachts Founder and CEO said: “We analysed our conversations with clients and how the market tends to develop. We believe that people are looking for more and more adventure in yachting. New versions of the Silent 80 will enable owners to take an amazing number of toys and provide them great features like larger windows, flush main deck, new layouts of the main salon and much more.”

The Austrian shipyard has emphasised the importance of space and light, which it has enhanced by raising the cockpit and salon floor by 35cm. This is now standard for both the classic Silent 80 and the Silent 80 Tri-Deck. The raised floor allows for larger water toy storage under the deck.

The ‘Loft version’ is a new optional version of the Silent 80 and Tri-Deck, offering larger and adaptable storage space as well as easier access to the garage. “You can have loose furniture throughout the whole salon and walk in the full length and width 9 x 7 metres without any restriction or steps until the windows,” continued Köhler. “You can bring your own sofa, loose chairs around the table of your choice.” The salon windows have also been extended by 35cm to offer panoramic views of the ocean which complements the spacious feel of the yacht by flooding the interior with natural light. The Owner has the option of electric sliding windows or full height folding side doors on rails on both sides of the salon.

“By cancelling the side sofa and the storage boxes between the side walkway and the superstructure, we can get almost full height glass windows between the salon and the side walkway that will give you a real loft-feeling,” explained Michael Köhler. “This feature can be combined with a glass insert in the side wall of the hull to give an unobstructed view of the sea even with the full height doors.”

The Silent Yachts range is ever growing in stature for its innovative platform and stunning design. As well as the Silent 80 and Tri-Deck flagships, the range also includes the Silent 55 and Silent 60.
