Speedy and Rugged: 43m Alia Raised Pilothouse Sold
The brand new Alia 43m raised pilothouse has been sold and is now in build. She is a fast and economical vessel, whilst encapsulating the essence of a relaxed lifestyle.
Partnered with Omega Architects, the new 43m project by Alia is currently in build, with aggressive exterior lines and stylistic features that resemble the relaxed, open-air lifestyle of Florida and the Bahamas. She has a sleek low-rise profile with a pelican-beak bow, assisted by the raised pilothouse layout.
‘She’s a combination of speedy and rugged,’ says Frank Laupman of Omega Architects. ‘The idea came from the owner and shipyard. There’s never a dull moment at Alia with such a dedicated owner and motivated team. You really get the feeling they really want to do the best for their clients.’
The raised pilothouse configuration is spread across two and a half decks, with a length of 42m. There are ample alfresco areas that include an aft deck with lounging and sunbathing areas and a sundeck with a hot tub.
She has four guest suites on the lower deck and a master stateroom on the main deck forward which boasts a walk in wardrobe. Seven crew can be accommodated on the lower deck alongside a gym and tender garage. Yodezeen, newcomers within the industry, have penned the interiors, a beautiful aspect of their design being sliding glass doors on both sides of the main saloon, ensuring a fresh breeze flowing through the interior, again mimicking the open-air lifestyle that the Owner wished for.
She is an all-aluminium vessel with a Fast Displacement Hull Form (FDHF) and a shallow draft, meaning that she can cruise in the shallowest of waters. The FDHF is by Van Oossanen, and outperforms conventional displacement and semi-displacement hull forms at all speeds by providing high efficiency throughout the power curve.
‘The distinguishing features of this hull form–such as fine entry, shallow transom and the sprayrail in the bow–lead to fuel-efficient cruising, outstanding top-end performance and relatively low engine power,’ says Perry van Oossanen, studio principal. ‘Together with the low draft of 2.10 metres this is a very competitive player in the US market.’
She is powered by twin MTU TIER III 2000 M96L main engines, with a highly impressive top speed of 22.5 knots, meaning that alongside her stunning design she also has exceptional performance capabilities.
‘We can optimistically anticipate a strong welcome for this kind of fast but economical yacht with lots of cool outdoor spaces,’ says Gökhan Çelik, president of Alia Yachts. ‘The raised pilothouse concept has been overlooked of late, especially when you get over 40 metres, and I think this yacht just fits Miami.’
She is scheduled for delivery in summer 2024 and will make her debut at the autumn boat shows.
