Tankoa Showcases Success in Lead Up to the Monaco Yacht Show
In the months leading up to the Monaco Yacht Show (MYS), Tankoa has announced significant news in terms of sales, investments and upcoming projects, including announcing that its 50m M/Y GREY will make her exciting debut at this year's MYS. These exciting developments are great achievements for the boutique shipyard as they continue to build impressive vessels to the highest quality standard.
In recent weeks, three of Tankoa’s new-build projects have been sold; two hulls already under construction on spec including an S501 and a T450, and the first unit of a full-custom project, which is to be unveiled at the Monaco Yacht Show 2023. These latest sales are an important achievement for Tankoa Yachts, but mean that there are no delivery slots available until 2026.
M/Y GREY, the latest yacht in the 50m mini series designed by Francesco Paszkowski with interiors by Giorgio Maria Cassetta, will make her exciting debut at the Monaco Yacht Show 2023. This wonderful unit showcases the high quality of Tankoa’s yachts; she is an excellent representation of the successful S501 series, whilst boasting a stunning individuality as she has been heavily customised to her owner’s requests.
The ongoing commercial success of the boutique shipyard has meant that Tankoa continues to invest in and expand its construction facilities. It has acquired a new 3000 square metres plot of land in Genoa adjacent to the existing infrastructure. This exciting new space will be dedicated to specialist carpentry, painting, joinery, and the production of custom pools branded Tankoa.
Alongside this development, Tankoa is in the process of constructing new administrative, technical and production offices. There is also a plan for more production space, made possible by reorganising two existing sheds in order to have three yachts under construction simultaneously, whilst the search continues for an additional production site. These developments are all part of Tankoa’s aim to build around four/five units a year, whilst maintaining high quality standards.
‘It has been a very busy but rewarding few months for Tankoa with these new sales,’ says Vincenzo Poerio, CEO at Tankoa Yachts. ‘That has created more pressure to expand our production capacity and we are making good progress in that direction with the latest acquisition in Genoa and other opportunities in the pipeline.’
