The 2024 Monaco Yacht Show Round Up

By Frances Flannagan

The 33rd edition of the world’s most prestigious superyacht show has once again cemented its place as the ultimate celebration of maritime luxury. Held from the 25th to the 28th of September, the Monaco Yacht Show 2024 (MYS) was a site of truly unforgettable industry excellence, boasting many moments that will undeniably go down in the history of this spectacular event.

The Monaco Yacht Show 2024 was an exceptional industry occasion, drawing upon the spectacular nature of previous editions and paving the way for the bright future of the show-stopping event. With 120 stunning superyachts on display and 60 luxury tenders showcased, this year’s MYS proved bigger and better than ever before.

From day one, the 33rd edition of the show proved to go down in the event’s history; the last-minute addition of 123m GOLDEN ODYSSEY rendered her the largest vessel ever to be displayed at the show, surpassing 122m KISMET who was already known to be in attendance. This unforgettable twist set the precedent for what was to follow: a four-day event defined by emotion, excitement and unexpected moments of industry magic.

Excellence, Innovation, and Legitimacy were at the heart of this year’s show, reflected in every aspect of the event. A total of 560 exhibitors showcased a remarkable array of new products, cutting-edge technology, and marine innovations, reflecting these core values. Across the four days, 22 conferences were held, giving industry leaders the chance to engage in meaningful discussions on the future of the yachting sector.

The Honours ceremony, hosted on the eve of the event, recognized 300 nominees for their outstanding contributions to the industry. This year, the awards celebrated the achievements of art philanthropist and Owner of the ArtExplorer catamaran Frédéric Jousset, explorer Mike Horn, who is also the visionary behind the Pangaea X Project, and Nick Entwisle, Founder of Yachting Gives Back.

The heavens opened on day two of the MYS and, despite dampening Port Hercules, failed to dampen spirits, as attendees optimised their time at the show by fully exploring all areas on offer; from the stunning displays of interior design and yacht decoration in Parvis Piscine, to the jaw-dropping new technologies in the Innovation Hub.

Superyachts.com had the pleasure of welcoming a diverse range of key industry figures to the Superyachts.com interview studio, with over 70 interviews conducted in total. From the most iconic shipyards to the latest tech innovators, companies from all facets of the maritime world were given the platform to share their stories, products and services to the industry.

As well as being a site of unparalleled industry discussions and networking, the Superyachts.com stand played host to the annual Antigua & Barbuda party, jointly hosted this year with The Cook Islands. Attendees enjoyed live music from a saxophonist, rum punches, and a vibrant atmosphere, encapsulating the very best of the Monaco Yacht Show and the superyacht industry as a whole.

Superyachts.com would like to give special thanks to our co-exhibitors, sponsors, interviewees, visitors, host Shari Liu and the fantastic team; without your support, none of this would be possible.

Once again, the Monaco Yacht Show 2024 has surpassed expectations, defining the heights of excellence in the superyacht world. As the final horns echoed across Port Hercules, the 33rd edition was drawn to a beautiful close, as we eagerly await our return in 2025.
