The Monaco Yacht Show Announces Return of the Sustainability Hub
The Sustainability Hub is set to return to the Monaco Yacht Show (MYS) for its second edition. It is sponsored by Siemens Energy, who have entered a partnership with the MYS, and will showcase companies specialising in sustainable technologies with the dedication to reduce the environmental impact of superyachts.
Since 2005, the Monaco Yacht Show has had a long-standing commitment to an eco-friendly approach, actively raising environmental awareness on a local and international level. The Sustainability Hub, which will return for its second edition this year, is therefore a welcome inclusion in the MYS and highlights its ongoing dedication to sustainability.
Last year, the Sustainability Hub was located in the Darse Sud exhibition space, providing a showcase of innovative and eco-friendly solutions, as well as the opportunity for all people committed to sustainability to have a platform; companies which have already established sustainable alternatives as well as budding start-ups eager to broadcast their forward-thinking ideas within the industry.
The Sustainability Hub’s participants undergo a selection process, carried out in collaboration with the Water Revolution Foundation, to ensure that only eligible companies with viable sustainable solutions are included, showing its commitment and serious dedication to making a positive environmental impact.
Gaëlle Tallarida, Managing Director of the MYS, has stated, 'This dedicated area for eco-friendly yachting alternatives is part of our extended sustainability program, which encompasses the entire show's logistics and layout here in the port of Monaco. We aim to support exhibitors, service providers, and visitors alike in finding viable solutions to environmental challenges.’
Executive Director of the Water Revolution Foundation, Robert Van Tol, has also expressed his enthusiasm for the return of the Sustainability Hub, commenting, ‘The Sustainability Hub's second year at the Monaco Yacht Show is a crucial confirmation that there is a growing momentum in yachting. Ever more important is the proof of environmental credentials claimed.'
Siemens Energy has also now entered a partnership with the MYS as the sponsor of the Sustainability Hub. This collaboration is a unique and positive opportunity, allowing stakeholders in the yachting industry to begin discussions on integration of sustainable energy sources and clean fuels into an Energy Management and Propulsion System. The system aims to reduce and control emissions for electric and hybrid yachts, so this would be a positive step forward regarding eco-friendly alternatives.
The return of the Sustainability Hub alongside the collaboration with Siemens Energy showcases the Monaco Yacht Show’s commitment to promoting an environmentally-friendly approach throughout the yachting industry.
