The Pinnacle of Personalised Luxury: Heesen’s 55m SERENA Hits the Water

By Frances Flannagan

On August 23rd 2024, YN 20555 was launched by Heesen, now known as SERENA. She features an optimised layout, unique finishes and eye-catching design elements, making her the ultimate expression of bespoke luxury as she has been customised specifically to her Owner's preferences.

SERENA was sold and project-managed by Arcon Yachts Monaco since her construction began in 2022, with her serial yacht Owners being heavily involved in her build. She features an exterior by Omega Architects, interiors by Luca Dini Design and Architecture and engineering overseen by Heesen.

Richard Kaye of Arcon Yachts Monaco commented: ‘The beauty of Serena’s design is that she is small enough to enter all the ports in the Med and large enough to offer the owners ample space to enjoy life at sea. The client's early involvement allowed us to tailor the yacht to their lifestyle, adding unique design elements and technical improvements.’

The aim of SERENA’s design was to create a homely and welcoming interior that would enhance comfort onboard, catering to extended periods at sea. The result is each area being optimised for relaxation, including attention to the height of seating arrangements, extra-comfortable sofas and the inclusion of luxurious yet practical materials.

In spite of the pre-existing boundaries, the team at Arcon were highly successful in enhancing the layout. The atrium in particular has been designed to be an undeniably show-stopping space onboard; spanning three decks and adorned with hand-blown glass and hand-made metal light fixtures, this area is the ultimate expression of creativity in customisation.

SERENA’s main salon beautifully blends the indoors and outdoors, with sliding doors that allow for both formal and more relaxed dining experiences. Her sky lounge is the perfect place to enjoy an array of indoor entertainment, featuring a hammered bronze bar, a games table and lavish seating.

Her exteriors are equally as luxurious, with a beach club boasting a sauna and a 110 sqm sun deck with flexible furniture arrangements. SERENA’s new Owner and guests can fully immerse themselves in life at sea with a forward seating area that acts as the perfect spot to enjoy spectacular vistas.

Up to 12 guests can be accommodated across five cabins, configured as Owners quarters, two doubles and two twins. SERENA’s Owner’s suite is located on the main deck, featuring a full-beam cabin with a veranda, a lounge, an office space, his and hers wardrobes and a spacious bathroom.

Increasing accessibility to the yacht and enhancing a connection to the sea, SERENA also includes a state-of-the-art tender, jet skis and an array of toys for her Owner and guests to enjoy.

Kaye concluded: ‘Serena is special within the boundaries of building a superyacht on a proven platform, offering a personal touch while benefiting from a reliable base.’

She marks a grand achievement for the Dutch yard, as she offers her Owner and guests an unmatched experience at sea. SERENA has hit the water as a true product of innovation, collaboration, and bespoke luxury.
