Tillberg Design of Sweden Announces Two Impressive Industry Moves
Leading Swedish design firm, Tillberg Design of Sweden (TDoS), has announced two impressive expansions to its brand. The studio has revealed that it has established a new mother company, Viken Group, in addition to acquiring Italian design and naval architecture company, Thalia Marine.
As a world-renowned design firm, creating outstanding designs for luxury superyachts, cruise ships, as well as hotel and restaurant interiors, TDoS has once again highlighted its success in the industry with its latest announcement.
TDoS’s new mother company, named Viken Group, will provide a full range of design, naval architecture and project services to both the yachting and cruise line industries.
Madelene Hall, CEO of TDoS, expanded on establishing Viken: ‘the creation of Viken Group will greatly benefit TDoS and our clients. We will continue to focus on our core business, which is design, while being able to offer our clients a full-service concept through acquisitions and partnerships in Viken Group.’
The new group will comprise multiple brands, starting with TDoS and the newly acquired Thalia Marine, and is set to include additional partnerships with complementary services and experts, to provide an all-encompassing design business.
Acquiring the Italian design and naval architecture firm, Thalia Marine, is expected to further Viken Group’s expertise in multiple yachting areas such as technical project management, surveys and consultancy. With a wide array of notable previous clients, including Fincantieri and Virgin Voyages, as well as valuable experience in both yacht and cruise ship new-builds, the Italian firm will certainly make a significant addition to the group’s new portfolio.
Viken Group’s CEO, and former CEO of TDoS, Stefan Nilsson, commented on the acquisition of Thalia: ‘we are delighted to welcome Thalia Marine and its employees to Viken Group.
