As well as there being developments in technology, specifically regarding propulsion and fuel, Dixon revealed the changing landscape of yachting clientele, as they have become increasingly younger, demanding vessels with multi-generational layouts.
Winch Design has an incredibly diverse portfolio, spanning projects over yachts, aviation and land. This has evidently led to company growth, and the creation of a highly skilled team. Dixon commented:
‘As we’ve grown over the years we’ve grown a talent pool of people in the studio with different training, different talents, different skill sets, all of which mashes together to create a multi-aspect team.’
Three new concepts from Winch Design have recently been unveiled: REVERIE, an 80 metre vessel, FUSION, an 88 metre, and OPTIMA, a 78 metre that defines the ultimate sales and charter vessel.
Sustainability is at the heat of the design studio, as Winch is a pioneer in green initiatives. Dixon stated: ‘We’re exploring different materials with a story behind them, and everybody loves a story.’ It is these new materials and innovations that Dixon believes is the ‘backbone of these very complex projects.’
