By Frances Flannagan

Atoll Estates has proudly announced that the development of Zamani Islands is underway: a stunning lifestyle destination set to redefine luxury and sustainability in the real estate and hospitality sphere. It will boast the Maldives’ first superyacht marina, alongside aiming to be the region’s first 100 percent renewable energy resort, with her design guided by both the ‘Planet and People.’

The superyacht market is an ever-expanding industry, estimated to have a value of $10.8 billion by 2026. This exponential growth has trickled down to the Maldives directly, with a notable increase in visiting superyachts witnessed in 2023; 18 superyachts arrived in January alone, compared to just one two months prior.

In response to this expanding industry and growing interest in the region, Atoll Estates has announced the new development of Zamani Islands: a lifestyle destination in the Maldives that will boast the region’s first superyacht marina and yacht club. The entire operation is guided by the ‘Planet and People’, set to redefine luxury and sustainability in every element of its design and aiming to be the first 100 percent renewable energy resort in the Maldives.

Three resorts will be accommodated across eight islands, designed in partnership with Killa Design, a renowned resort master planner. The Superyacht Marina alone will span 60,000 sqm, featuring seamless docking services, exceptional facilities and a bustling community of boating enthusiasts.

Made up of 99 percent sea and just one percent land, The Maldives is one of the most remarkable cruising locations on the planet, with sparkling blue waters, year-round sunshine and pristine white-sand beaches. It is home to some of the best diving locations in the world, featuring a spectacle of tropical fish and vibrant corals, offering visitors an unmatched experience of oceanic wonders.

A key priority throughout the design process is environmental sensitivity, with a meticulous selection of construction materials used throughout alongside an unwavering respect for the marine surroundings. An active coral relocation program has been implemented by Atoll Estates during the build and a coral propagation program will continue post-construction, with 70 hectares being dedicated for this purpose.

Capturing the best views of the Indian Ocean, spacious entertaining zones have strategically been positioned across the development. Each villa boasts beautiful bedrooms, multiple private pools, a screening room, personal spa and wellness area and fitness and game spaces. To enhance the luxurious nature of the Islands even further, a personal butler service will cater to all needs.

Each residence includes a private berth with the superyacht marina, benefitting from a comprehensive range of facilities: from crew amenities and provisioning to maintenance and a yacht club. Zamani Islands is geared up to be the ultimate haven for yacht owners and maritime aficionados, offering an unparalleled experience of this stunning part of the world whilst exuding luxury, sophistication, and sustainability.
